Booth Library is part of Eastern Illinois University, located in Charleston, IL, the county seat of Coles County, in East Central Illinois. The library was a 2014 finalist for the National Medal for Museum and Library Service. Booth Library is led by Dr. Allen Lanham, dean of library services, assisted by the Library Advisory Board, which is comprised of faculty, staff and students from across campus. The library is served by nine departments staffed by 17 faculty members, 36 civil service employees and many student assistants. EIU has an enrollment of approximately 9,000 students and employs 1,900 faculty and staff.
